Our environment contains a multitude of chemical compounds from two hundred years of industrialization. As life expectancy has improved, our bodies are exposed to an ever-greater number of compounds that enter our cells, weaken our immune systems and destabilize our DNA. The result is inflammation, cancer, and other chronic diseases.

Mirko Beljanski, PhD (1923-1998), was one of the first scientists to discover the direct link between environmental toxins and DNA damage. He demonstrated the destabilizing effect that carcinogens exert when they bind to DNA and found that this altered form of DNA was found in all cancer cells. He went on to identify plant extracts that specifically target destabilized DNA and thus prevent the growth of cancer cells, without being gender or organ specific. These extracts, Pao pereira and Rauwolfia vomitoria have now become the subject of extensive scientific research from numerous academic institutions.

Both extracts contain compounds that, by targeting the damaged DNA found in cancer cells, prevent DNA replication, and thereby cause death of the tumor cells. The extracts are not toxic to healthy cells so they do not induce negative side effects. Research at Columbia University Medical Center has shown that both Pao pereira and Rauwolfia vomitoria extracts suppress the growth of prostate cancer cells and shrink prostate tumors in vivo. Further research conducted at Nanjing University in China have confirmed the effectiveness of Pao pereira on both BPH and advanced cancer prostate, making the extract an interesting natural solution for every stage of prostate disease.

Meanwhile, researchers at Kansas University Medical Center (“KUMC”) evaluated the anti-tumor effects of the Pao pereira and Rauwolfia vomitoria extracts in pancreatic and ovarian cancers. These two types of cancer are notoriously difficult to treat because the tumors are often diagnosed late and then become resistant to chemotherapy drugs. The scientists at KUMC explored the anti-cancer activity of the extract both alone and in combination with widely used chemo drugs. These studies, both in vitro and in vivo, demonstrated that at optimal doses tumor growth was significantly suppressed. When the extracts were combined with a chemotherapy drug—gemcitabine for pancreatic cancer and carboplatin for ovarian cancer—the synergy of action was remarkable as tumor burden was reduced by over 90%.

The efficacy of the extracts against primary cancer cells leads to the question of their potential against cancer stem cells. Cancer stem cells are thought to survive chemotherapy treatments and provide the basis for tumor regrowth. Data will be presented showing the activity of Pao pereira and Rauwolfia vomitoria extracts against pancreatic and ovarian cancer stem cells.

The activity of the Pao pereira and Rauwolfia vomitoria extracts against a broad spectrum of cancers both in vitro and in vivo indicates that the extracts have therapeutic potential for a variety of human cancers.

Beljanski’s plant extracts and RNA fragments are powerful natural products that help provide protection from damaging elements in our environment as part of a holistic approach to wellness. With the support of The Beljanski Foundation, Dr. Mirko Beljanski’s initial research has attracted the attention of prestigious American scientific institutions that have conducted research using Beljanski’s extracts. Maison Beljanski provided Pao pereira and Rauwolfia vomitoria extracts, as well as RNA fragments and a special blend of green teas for these research programs. All these studies have been published in peer-reviewed journals.
